At the Union of National Employees, we know that education is a key ingredient of personal growth. We also recognize that there are countless barriers to continuing education. That’s partly why we award three bursaries each year – to make it a little bit easier for our members and their family to access quality education.
Laurier Auger Bursary
Laurier Auger was a former member of the Union of National Employees. He served on the National Executive from June 1972 to April 1974. His life was cut short by a car accident in April 1974. In his honour, the Union of National Employees offers a bursary to its members and their families to assist them in the pursuit of their studies.
The Laurier Auger Bursary awards $2,000 to a UNE member – or their partner or child – who is entering the first year of post-secondary education. The application for this bursary must be received by May 31.

High School Scholarships
At the Union of National Employees, we believe that no one should be stripped of the chance to reach their full potential because of the increasingly unaffordable cost of post-secondary education. That′s why our members are proud to offer several scholarships to promising students.
The High School Scholarship program awards eleven scholarships in the amount of $1,000 – one for each region – to students in their last year of high school who are about to pursue post-secondary education.
